The Chancellery of the President of the Republic of Poland posted three videos in which the president and the first lady encourage participation in World Youth Day in Krakow. The videos are in Polish, English and German.

A festival of youth, joy and prayer awaits us. It will be our special time in a special place. Christians from all corners of the globe visit the city which was close to St. John Paul II – says the couple.

The greeting of the president and his wife is meant for the pilgrims and volunteers who help in the organisation of WYD. They also express their joy that Pope Francis will visit Poland on this occasion.

We are waiting for you with open arms. See you in Krakow – we hear at the end of the clip recorded in Polish.

In addition, the Chancellery has filmed two more movies: one entirely in English with Andrzej Duda, the second – in German, featuring the first lady.

Agata Duda-Kornhauser for nearly 17 years was a teacher of German language at the Second High School of King Jan III Sobieski in Krakow.

Millions of pilgrims

The 31st World Youth Day will begin in Krakow on July 26th. From July 27th to 31st Pope Francis will also take part. On the last day of his visit Francis will celebrate mass in Brzegi near Krakow. It is estimated that several million pilgrims from all around the world will come to Poland.
