20 patients have been diagnosed with swine flu this year in Silesia, south Poland. Two of those people are dead. A hospital in Gliwice has prohibited patient visits. The source of the flu is unknown.

When in doubt, see a doctor
The virus has killed two people. A 71-year-old man and a 56-year-old woman. Both had strongly reduced immunity. They were patients of the Oncology Centre in Gliwice, after surgery and transplants. Therefore doctors were not able to save them.
However, the sanitary-epidemiological centre warns that flu symptoms should not be underestimeted. When our bones and muscles ache, we have a fever, runny nose and sore throat we should go to a family doctor to be certain it is the usual kind of flu and not swine flu.
9 people with swine flu are in the Oncology Centre in Gliwice. The hospital has introduced a ban on visits to all wards, and also stopped accepting patients to the marrow transplantation and oncohaematology units. A 5-year old child in Jaworzno is also suffering from AH1N1 flu, he is in hospital and his condition is good.
